Strength & Confidence Training

Life is full of ups & downs, and I’m sure 2024 won’t be any different. If you pay even the slightest bit of attention to the constant news cycle, you can tell we are in the midst of changes on many levels.`

When I say strength, I don’t mean false bravado, which is only temporary & fragile.

No, I think we’ll need to remain fluid in the face of change, and fear is not fluid, it’s stagnant & icy.

To affect personal change, we will have to find ways to stop letting fear, anxiety, or low self-esteem paralyze us.

To tap into this type of strength, we’ll need to master those challenging emotions by confronting them, and exploring them vs blaming someone else. We can’t run away because everywhere we go, there we are.

The kind of strength I’m talking about forces us to examine our inner doubts. This kind of strength allows a person the grace of recognizing their infallibility while giving them the courage to face their imperfections.

We are not always magic, sometimes we are mere mortals.

To build, we must first prioritize ourselves & our healing. Our unhealed selves affect every area of our lives; career, love, family, parenting, academics, etc.

I’ve found that making it a part of my routine has been a great help. I’ve put alarms in my phone, I’ve written notes and placed them where I can see them, and I even put them on my dry-erase board on my fridge. (I need constant reminding:)

Here are some other things that helped me:

Take charge/responsibility: Surprisingly, we can often feel helpless when it comes to our personal growth. Sometimes it all starts with a vision, so envision how this version of yourself would be.

Believe you're worth it: “It” is whatever is needed; investment of time, energy, research, self-exploration, etc. My motto is if you can invest your time and energy into helping someone else bring their dream to fruition (which is basically what you’re doing whenever you go to work for a company), then surely you can invest in yourself.

Don’t be afraid of what you find: We all have flaws & some of them can be downright villainous. It’s been a hard pill to swallow that I have an…interesting relationship with power, but I’m a better person now that I’m aware of it.

Create your own rules for your outcome: You may find that a technique that yields results for you may, for example, go against the religion you were raised in, but what is wrong with starting personal traditions and rituals? As long as you aren’t harming anyone else, there is no problem. Some of those rules or beliefs may be outdated as well.

Wishing everyone a prosperous new year!
